Hreidmar

Description

Long-time king of the Nibelung race and son of Durin. A victim of the curse of the Ring of Andvari, he was the first to fall by extreme greed, slain by his own son, Fáfnir. The ring went to him as a compensatory payment, for Loki had mistakenly killed his son, Óter, and to compensate for the loss, he stole the Ring of Andvari and gave it to Hreidmar, unaware of what it would trigger.
