Jörund
King of Upsal
Description
Son of Yngve. After the death of his father and uncle and the departure of Bera, the new king, his cousin Hugleik, entered into conversation with his cousins, Elrich and Jörund. Despite the kingdom's fear of a possible breakdown in family relations, the cousins understood that their fathers' situation was a conflict already settled by themselves, and that they should reign with more honor and reason than they did. This meant a strong family alliance in the Upsal monarchy, very effective in such hard times. Jörund and Elrich are mainly known for their war in Berthan, which they left halfway to save Upsal from the capture of Skógge. In that war they managed to finish with Gudlog, king of Berthan, but upon returning to Upsal, Elrich would be lethally wounded, leaving Jörund alone with the reconquest. This reconquest would be effective, expelling Skögge back to his island and proclaiming Jörund as king of Upsal, as Hugleik had not left any inheritance.
