Tyrfing

Description

Also known as Dáinn's Legacy, it was the sword that the dwarf Dáinn forged in the caverns of Svartalfheim with the idea of being able to stop the lurking dark elves Fjalar and Galar from killing him. It proved effective, ending the psychopaths' lives, but could not save him. Dáinn used magic to attribute to the sword the characteristic that, once unsheathed, it should take at least one life. It is unknown how, but it came into the possession of King Heidrek of Götaland, later inherited by Angantyr, who would use it as a last resort to end the life of his rebellious brother, Hlöd. After the civil war in Götaland, he would give it to Högni of Solor, who would also use it to defend his daughter from Hedinn's abduction, killing the prince of Serk.
