Járnvid Forest

Description

Járnvidr Forest is located in the southwest of Jötunheim. It is a secluded forest inhabited by female jötuns and wolves, which eventually interbred, giving rise to offspring that were half wolf and half jötun. It was here that Angrboda was born, half jötun and half wolf, with whom the jötun Loki fathered three sons: Fenrir, Jörmungandr and Hel. In this forest, Fenrir grew up and had his two sons, Sköll and Hati, with the she-wolf Hródvit. Sköll and Hati are known as the pursuers and executioners in Ragnarök, chasing and finally overtaking Sól and Máni, the gods of the Sun and the Moon, respectively.
